The process of development is not a straightforward series of events
leading to a memorable character. Repeats of certain stages might need
to be covered to further convince you and your audience of certain key
characteristics of your character. Video can be used as an opportunity
to reveal something about the world you live in. The best visuals in the
universe — whether they are 2-D or 3-D—won't save a weak story or weak
script. As a fund-raising tool, a video demo can't be beat. A video
director is usually quite involved with finding locations. Web-based
material, either stand-alone programming or sites that are built in
conjunction with TV programming, requires a great deal of evaluation,
some of it to make sure the goals are being met and some just to make
sure the technical aspects are working.
Think about stance,
posture and angle when doing character design. Don't use boring poses;
think about how the character sees themselves and is seen by others. An
assistant director in charge of atmosphere will see that cars move down
the street and local extras hurry down the sidewalk. The first thing
you're probably going to do in any video project is shoot some video.
Even if you are shooting a simple school play or family gathering, you
can and should plan many aspects of the shoot. The set designer, a
member of the production designer's staff, does the drafting of the set.
Some large corporations will retain a film and Video Production Company to assist with their in house needs.
For
many years, most TV graphics consisted of title cards made by applying
rub-on or stick-on letters to sheets of cardboard that were then placed
in front of the camera. If a chart or graph was needed, an artist drew
it by hand. Directors often draw blocking diagrams to help them
visualize the shots ahead of time. Now your video must live up to the
expectations you've created for it. Did you exaggerate too much in your
press releases? If the art director is visually aware, the ability to
draw is helpful, if not essential. If the designer works at a major
studio, the art department supplies sketch artists and visualizers to
communicate production designers' ideas in the form of sketches and
illustrations. Cameras see a much more limited field, even in
wide-screen formats. The art of Video Production London has always been a field that offers both excitement and opportunities for creativity.
It
is worth noting that effective pictorial design is not the quest for a
magical series of symmetrical compositions. The nature of the frame is
that it acts as a locating device. If the figure or subject is framed
centrally, it may lead to problems with the dynamic operation and
symmetrical balance of the image. College and university courses have
proliferated to accommodate the increasing interest in animation, and
there is training available in traditional and CG animation. Writers can
be involved in creating storyboards, if storyboards are used; even if
an artist is hired for the drawings, a writer is responsible for the
story. A pedestal move involves moving the entire camera vertically. The
move is named for the adjustable center post found on many tripods.
Unlocking this center post allows you to raise the camera while the
tripod legs remain in a fixed position. Each studio camera, graphics
generator, and video recording source will have a small individual
monitor. Digital technology has in many ways democratized Video Production but is this the way it should be?
A
good demo film should be your number one marketing tool. There's
nothing like it to showcase (and sell) your videography talent. Computer
technology already produces major portions of feature films and
promises to become even more important in the future. Many film
producers (or their assistants) use stripboards to aid them with their
shooting plans. Sometimes, these are actual boards that can hold long
strips of paper indicating the locations and characters needed each day
but most are computer generated. Animation is present in its traditional
form in the films produced by Disney, PIXAR, Dreamworks and Ghibli, and
in television sit-coms like The Simpsons and South Park. A lighting
director has to light the actors and set to accommodate different angles
without relighting. Is the target audience of your Corporate Video Production large enough to justify the production costs?
A
part of effective video production in the future could be the ability
to judge how well a scene will compress for streaming. Dramatically, a
fade is the curtain falling - the end of a scene or an act.
Grammatically, it represents the end of a chapter or story. Video is a
wonderful communication medium that enables us to express ourselves in
ways unlike other media.
